Last Thursday we suspended a SeaHive from a pontoon in Poole Quay Boat Haven (PQBH) marina.
This was a new design, using stainless steel bands to hold the tubes together, and stainless steel chain to attach the SeaHive to the pontoon. The SeaHive will be at a constant depth in the water, which is much better for marine life as it provides a stable environment, with a good stream of water to bring nutrients for filter feeders.
The SeaHive was deployed with the much appreciated help of Tom and Lewis from the PQBH team.
We’re planning to capture some under water images of the SeaHive next month, but in the mean time here are a couple of photos taken before deployment.
