Objective
To increase the density and diversity of marine life in the QAB marina. Working with Plymouth Marine Laboratories (PML) a video camera has been placed next to the SeaHive to facilitate streaming of video images via the internet.

Observation:
Planned for June / July 2023 by students from Plymouth University.

Updates

The SeaHive in the QAB marina is no longer dominated by individual Sea Squirts , and has developed several large areas of colonial hydrozoans and sponges.  Many Grey Mullet fry were also seen in and around the reef.

Webcam attached to SeaHive after 3 months. Lens was covered by hydrozoans feeding on the zooplankton attracted to the LED lights.

SeaHive after five months. Surface completely covered by Sea Squirts filtering organic material from the surrounding sea water.
